Tutoring Services

The Student Success Center provides FREE tutoring services for a variety of courses each semester to CCCC  students. The peer tutoring program at ٍٍٍ½خرتسئµ provides students the opportunity to increase mastery of college-level material by teaching other students how to learn. The tutor reinforces prior learning, develops higher-level thinking skills, increases confidence, and builds self-esteem.

Requirements for tutoring

To become a peer tutor, students must have already taken the course for which they tutor or have demonstrated competency in the subject being tutored.  Peer tutors must also have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, obtained a grade of “Aâ€‌ or “Bâ€‌ in the class tutored, have the recommendation of the course instructor, and receive training from the SSC in tutoring theory and skills. Students in need of tutoring may drop-in or make an appointment by calling the SSC at 243-1435, x231. Tutors are paid through the Federal Work Study Program or institutional funds. ٍٍٍ½خرتسئµ is committed to providing the best services to its students by hiring the best tutors.
