The purpose of the Early Childhood Education program at òòò½ÎÑÊÓƵ is to provide delivery of both instruction and services to CCCC students and to the service area communities. The program addresses the needs of students seeking to further their education or immediately enter a career in the early childhood industry and focuses instruction on primary aspects of the field including early childhood development, guidance, family development and protective factors, curriculum, professional employment, and enrichment at both the individual and the community levels.
Early Childhood Education courses can be taken online, via ZOOM by current high school students through the CTE Initiative and can be applied toward the Early Childhood A.A.S. degree, as well as the 16-hour and 30-hour Early Childhood Certificate programs.
Additionally, Early Childhood Education / Human Ecology courses count as elective credits toward an A.A. in Education and HE144 – Educating Exceptional Students is included in the Systemwide Transfer A.A. list of courses guaranteed to be transferrable and accepted by Kansas 2-yr and 4-year institutions.
We also serve the community through the offering of off-campus Early Childhood Education instructional services, ZOOM courses to high school students as well as the Cloud Geary County Campus.
